Newsletter – Issue 24 October 2024

Hello readers. Welcome to the revamped Pudsey Wellbeing Charity Newsletter. We hope you like our fresh new look and find it easier to read about all our latest charity news. We have lots going on this season as the leaves start to fall from the trees and we grab our thicker coats from the back of the wardrobe. The sun is still shining as we write this and let’s hope we still have some more sunny days to come!
Last month we had lots of fun with Pudsey Scarecrow Festival. To celebrate the Olympics 2024 there was a sport theme and we held workshops at our centre for visitors to get involved making scarecrows! Our Pudsey Wellbeing Charity mascot and runner were taking a much needed rest outside of our centre during the festival.

To get in to the spirit of scary season here at Pudsey Wellbeing Centre we are hosting our own Halloween Event – Spookulele! Come along for an evening of frightening fun with live music, drinks and fancy dress.
Head to our website for more details about this event or click here.

NEW to Pudsey Wellbeing Charity
In August we welcomed two new Coordinators to our office team to help run the charity and everything that goes on behind the scenes. Many of you will have met them already if you’ve popped by The Open Door but here’s a few things you probably didn’t know about the team..
Meet Rachel
![]() I’m originally from Spalding in Lincolnshire but moved to Leeds to study. Except for a brief move to London, I have lived here ever since! I now live in Swinnow with my husband Andrew and my son Harry. I’m most happy when I am at home spending time with my family, we love to be outside in the garden. We enjoy trips to the seaside especially to the coast in Northumberland. |
I enjoy visiting art exhibitions but also love music. My career background is in Arts Administration and I have been lucky to work for Opera North, Leeds Lieder and Leeds Piano Competition. I’m really looking forward to working with you all at Pudsey Well-being Charity and it has been so lovely to chat to so many of you already.
Meet Sophie
I’m originally from Ilkley but was drawn to the area when I met my fiancé here in 2019. We live together with our 1 year old daughter Hilda who you might have met in The Open Door where I spent most of my Maternity leave! The last few years I’ve been working in travel as a Coordinator for Jet2Holidays. Before that I sold coach trips to Disneyland Paris and even spent time in Florida working for the mouse at Walt Disney World! ![]()
I LOVE to travel – Hiking, running and cycling are my favourite ways to explore a new place. If you need any holiday tips you know where I am! This month I get married in Lancashire before jetting off on my honeymoon to Montenegro. If you see a bridezilla in The Open Door – That’s probably me!I look forward to getting to know you all over the coming months and I’m so happy to be here.
