Pudsey Wellbeing Charity Secure 3-Year National Lottery Funding

13th December 2022

We are so thrilled to share with you that we have been awarded £105,000 in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund! This will cover funding for our “Longevity Project” and will cover the charity’s core running costs for 3 years, from 2023-2025.

This funding means that the charity can continue to support approximately 260 people per week, including all of our wonderful group participants, volunteers and Trustees. As a busy social hub and wellbeing centre, our charity is an integral part of the Pudsey community, offering a welcoming and nurturing space for people to meet and make long-lasting friendships.

We are so grateful and happy to receive this award so that we can continue to help those in our community.

A big thank you to the National Lottery and its players!!

A statement from the Pudsey Wellbeing Charity:

The past two years through covid have been difficult for many charities, and Pudsey Wellbeing Charity have found ourselves having lost significant sponsorship and the means to generate the income that previously sustained us.

In the light of our difficult financial situation, and after a considerable period of work, the Trustees have regrettably had to decide unanimously to make plans to restructure the Charity to try to ensure a more sustainable future, in the hope that grant funding allows a way forward.

We are having to make our staff redundant and entering a period of six months of reflection and reset to the end of April to see if funding allows a much reduced charity structure to provide the coordination of space and groups.

For the next six months, the charity will continue to operate supported by our trustees and other volunteers with the aim of keeping as many group and activities running as possible.

Any queries should be addressed to Richard Dimery, Chair of Trustees at vicar@pudseyparish.org.uk

Thank you.
